Entry at 4+
SUB MENU

We offer places to 24 girls at 4+ based on their performance in assessments.

Parents or legal guardians should submit an application with the Junior School two years before their daughter is due to start in Reception. Application forms are available to download from our website during a designated two week period in September of each year and we guarantee to assess every girl whose application is received within this time frame. We are unable to process any applications outside of this period.

The assessment process has two stages. The first assessment is typically held in November, one year before the September entry. Girls are asked to come on an enjoyable visit to the school, which should be considered as a ‘play date’. No special preparation is necessary as no formal knowledge is expected. The girls will visit in small groups and will be observed by our assessors.

We then invite back approximately half the candidates in smaller groups for a second assessment in January. It is at this stage that we request references.

Places are then offered in February and parents will be given a deadline to accept. At the point of acceptance a non-returnable deposit of £1000 is payable (cheques payable to GDST).

Applications for 4+ entry 2018  have now closed (girls born between 01.09.13-31.08.14).

First round assessments for 4+ 2018 will take place in between 1-13 November 2017.  Your daughter's assessment date will be sent to your home address at the end of September.

Applications for 4+ entry 2019 (girls born between 01.09.14-31.08.15) will be open from Monday 11th September to Wednesday 27th September 2017.

During this period you can download the application form HERE.   If returning the application by post we recommend using registered/recorded delivery.  Applications can be delivered to the school by hand during the hours of 8am-4.30pm from Monday through to Friday.  Payment can be made by cheque or cash.  Cash payments must be made in person at the school office and not sent through the post.
