Sixth Form

Welcome to the Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at South Hampstead High School is special.

Girls in the Sixth Form enjoy more freedom, independence and responsibility. Sixth Formers have their own quiet work areas, tutorial bases, computer room, kitchen and common room. There is no prefect system. All Sixth Formers are leaders and are encouraged to take an active role in running the school. There are over 20 subjects on offer and no restrictions on subject combinations. The courses are stimulating, but classes are small and informal. Teachers and students really get to know each other well.

Outside the classroom there are numerous opportunities for girls to pursue interests and hobbies, or actively express themselves in various clubs and societies.

True, there are no boys in the classroom. But this doesn’t mean a life without boys. Socially, Sixth Formers have constant opportunities to mix with boys. In school, every subject is a ‘girl’s subject’. Sixth Formers are free to study subjects that they enjoy and are good at, rather than allowing gender stereotypes to influence their choice of subject.
