Maths Awards

38 Mathematicians in Year 7 and 8 achieved gold awards in this year’s Junior Maths Challenge, with one student gaining full marks!

The national challenge, organised by the UK Mathematics Trust, aims to test students’ mathematical reasoning and problem-solving, and encourages them to think creatively. 75% of our Mathematicians were awarded certificates this year: 58 Bronze, 54 Silver, and 38 Golds – the latter are awarded to the top-scoring 10% of all participants. A special mention goes our 25 Gold certificate winners who have qualified for the follow-up Kangaroo round and to Venese in Year 8 who achieved the highest score possible, securing her an invitation to the Junior Maths Olympiad next month alongside the top 1000 -1200 students of her age in the country – an outstanding achievement!
