Top Readers
At our final assembly of the year, our top library borrowers were recognised for their commitment to reading.
To celebrate the joys of reading, our library team awarded prizes to some of this year’s most avid bibliophiles. Mehak in Year 8 was presented with the Literary Explorer Award for borrowing 45 books, including the most varied authors and genres, this year; Calissa in Year 7 picked up the Golden Bookmark for borrowing nearly 50 books this year – and returning every single one on time! Finally, our Epic Reader Award went to Bella in Year 8, who borrowed more books than anyone else this year. Congratulations to all our prize winners, who were awarded book tokens and a Daunt Books tote bag.
Our school library is a unique space at the heart of the school where pupils can find a peaceful environment to work, read and play board games. The library offers reading lists for all subjects, specialist recommendations for the enrichment programme, and suggestions on any subject requested; any titles not currently on the shelves can be ordered and are typically available within 48 hours. Librarians are also on hand to support students’ research requests, drawing upon the library’s collection of 18,000 print titles as well as periodicals, electronic resources and periodicals.
