Physics Forces
Our Physicists have been embracing practical projects and intellectually demanding challenges this term.
Congratulations to two of our A Level students who were awarded Silver and Bronze certificates in the first round of British Physics Olympiad, placing them amongst the top Physicists in the country. The national challenge aims to stretch students’ analytical skills as they apply fundamental physical principles to solve complex open-ended problems.
Meanwhile, our younger Physicists have been using their imagination to tackle an array of hands-on challenges. Year 7 have been learning about waves and sound, producing an impressive array of home-made musical instruments, and Year 8 have been making magnet-inspired toys as part of a House contest. Congratulations to our trio above on their winning designs: an electromagnetic drawing tool, a pineapple-shaped magnetic foldable chess board, and a fun magnetic fishing game.
