Whole School Walk

This year’s special Giving Day walk embodied South Hampstead’s sense of community and shared purpose.

Over the years, pupils and staff have taken on a variety of 10km routes through London, come rain or shine, whilst fundraising for charity – an ambitious undertaking which is always an uplifting and memorable end to the spring term.

This year’s adventure was the final event of our inaugural Giving Day, with all our Senior School pupils setting off from Wellington Arch before strolling through Hyde Park, Kensington Park Gardens and St James Park with their classmates, cheered on by staff marshalls at checkpoints along the way. Pupils and teachers from across the school took on a range of challenges on the day: a group of intrepid athletes ran the route in record time, unlocking special rewards for all our pupils, kindly organised by our PTA/Friends of South Hampstead; girls collected litter along the way, with an additional £50 of funds released for our school charities for each bag filled; and teachers, incentivised to wear Where’s Wally? outfits, were spotted amid the cherry blossom and daffodils at various junctures on the route. Everyone crossed the finish line in good spirits, having enjoyed the time outdoors together; thank you to everyone who played their part in our community efforts to give back.
