Art Gallery
Our artists have produced an inspiring and diverse body of work this year.
Demonstrating creativity, curiosity and technical skill across a wide range of artistic disciplines, and making full use of our four specialist art studios, pupils have explored everything from printmaking and sculpture to life drawing, photography and ceramics.
Year 7 explored the theme of Mini Metropolis, designing and constructing imaginative urban environments. Year 8 responded to Suzanne Vega’s Tom’s Diner, interpreting music through drawing, painting and mixed media. Year 9 investigated contemporary ideas of portraiture through the theme Headspace, creating thoughtful and inventive responses that explored identity, emotion and self-expression; they also developed expressive clay portraits inspired by the work of Rebecca Warren, Alberto Giacometti, Juliette Clovis and Julian Opie, combining observational skills with increasingly personal responses.
The gallery above offers a glimpse into this year’s sketchbooks, experiments and finished outcomes, celebrating the imagination, commitment and individuality of our young artists.
