Beyond 150
As we bid farewell to a busy 2025, and rapidly approach the school’s 150th anniversary year, this feels like a fitting moment to reflect on our plans for the future.
Since joining South Hampstead over two years ago, I have felt energised by the sense of camaraderie, purpose and unity within our school community. I would like to thank everyone who has joined my parent breakfasts, spoken with me at events, and taken the time to offer their thoughts as we reflect on the future direction of South Hampstead. I would particularly like to thank the girls, who are a continued source of inspiration, ideas and opinions! My interactions with them are a daily source of joy. Your daughters are of course at the very heart of South Hampstead’s vision for the future as we look ahead – beyond our 150th year – and unveil our Beyond 150 strategy…
Since our school first opened its doors in 1876, the belief in looking to the future with vision and energy has been one true constant. Our 150th anniversary is the perfect moment to not just honour South Hampstead’s legacy in providing outstanding opportunities for young women but to define the school’s future impact in a fast-changing world. Our Beyond 150 strategy is a declaration of how we intend to continue empowering every one of our girls to shine brightly and happily in her own unique light. There are five key areas of focus:
- A curriculum for tomorrow – cultivating courageous, creative minds ready to lead, innovate and shape tomorrow’s world
- Instilling resilience – nurturing resilient, compassionate young women ready to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and purpose
- Creating changemakers – developing skills, vision and confidence to shape tomorrow’s innovators and trailblazers
- Lifelong community – creating a thriving, supportive community that opens doors and broadens horizons for every girl
- A great estate – enhancing our distinctive urban campus to empower girls with world-class spaces for learning and life

The work to deliver our Beyond 150 strategy is already well underway. We launched our 150th anniversary campaign in October, and have already raised over half the funds needed to deliver the roof terrace transformation, gym and wellbeing studio as well as to support our new bursary places next year. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has joined the campaign and contributed so generously in whatever way they can. The race is now on to ensure we have secured 75% of the funding for these projects by March and we would be extremely grateful for any support you are able to offer us – find out more about how to get involved here.
