Alumnae Reunion 2026

At our annual reunion, we welcomed alumnae and honorary alumnae for a joyful celebration of memories, connections, and achievements.

As we celebrated International Women’s Day, former pupils and staff gathered for a drinks reception on the seventh floor and explored the newly added Class of Bursary names on the Rings of Recognition – a stunning, nature-inspired installation celebrating South Hampstead’s 150 year history and ongoing legacy. Our global community was well represented, with guests travelling from as far as Australia and Singapore, while our most senior alumna, Roda Infield from the Class of 1953, attended alongside her daughter. The archive photo display in the atrium sparked lively conversations and reminiscences, while the South Hampstead Memory Wall invited alumnae to share reflections from their time at the school.

In her welcome, Head Mrs Paul outlined some of the school’s recent academic successes: following record-breaking examination results at A Level and GCSE last summer, more than 1 in 4 students received Oxbridge offers this year – South Hampstead’s best outcomes in over 15 years. Mrs Paul also announced the launch of our very first community Giving Day to raise funds for our 150th Anniversary Campaign. Thank you to everyone who made a contribution on the day and received one of our anniversary cookbooks – your gifts have been matched in value by the Exilarch’s Foundation and, as a result of your participation, twelve staff members will be walking our end of term 10km walk through the Royal Parks in fancy dress!

Over afternoon tea, reunion groups from the Classes of 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, 2001, 2006, and 2016 enjoyed catching up with friends. Guests met our Year 7 volunteers, joined school tours led by Sixth Formers, took group photos, and concluded the afternoon with a rousing rendition of the school song, The Hymn of Light. At the end of the event, guests were invited to take home a sprig of mimosa, a traditional symbol of International Women’s Day.

A huge thank you to all our alumnae, staff and honorary alumnae for coming back to the school and making the reunion such a special and uplifting occasion. For details about future alumnae events, including our 150th Anniversary Year reunion in 2027, please visit the Mehr Licht Community.
