Autumn Sports

Autumn term sports are underway with numerous fixtures, clubs, training sessions and a scholars’ trip.

Our Sports Scholars have made a strong start to the season, with key achievements including: two pupils selected for the GDST Select Netball Team, a Year 7 cricketer selected for Middlesex, a Year 10 cricketer selected for the National Fast Bowling Academy, a Year 11 dancer selected for the Royal School of Ballet, and a Year 10 footballer selected for Tottenham Hotspurs Academy. As part of our sports scholarship programme, our 32 athletes enjoy expert talks on topics such as sports psychology and nutrition, weekly strength and conditioning sessions, and bespoke mentoring from the PE department. They also recently enjoyed a trip to Lee Valley VeloPark to try out track cycling in the iconic velodrome and BMX cycling on the outdoor track. Our Sports Scholars’ programme has been running for five years, with scholarships now available when joining the Sixth Form as well as in Year 7.

Meanwhile, a buzzing co-curricular schedule of sporting options ensures that every pupil has the opportunity to find an activity she enjoys. Triple lesson PE afternoons this term focus on football and netball, with 178 girls already competing in football, and 229 girls competing in netball fixtures so far.  So far this term, our girls have had the opportunity to play in over 80 football and netball fixtures, two cross country competitions, one hockey tournament and five ski races. And at clubs before, during and after school, girls can try out an incredible array of sports, including badminton, basketball, dodgeball, gymnastics, padel, pickleball, running on Primrose Hill, street dance, yoga and more.

Our Sports Scholars’ programme has been running for five years, with scholarships now available when joining the Sixth Form as well as in Year 7. Find out more about how to apply for a Sports Scholarship at 11+ or 16+.
