South Hampstead has been recognised as the best Senior School in the UK for music.
Having been inundated with a record number of entries this year, The Week’s independent schools’ guide features the very best senior schools in the UK. Having won the pupil voice category last year, South Hampstead has been lauded for its outstanding musical provision in 2025.
The award is testament to the dedication of a thriving music department, now led by Miss Ellis following the recent retirement of the legendary Dr Collisson, whose musical legacy at South Hampstead can be summed up by his philosophical mantra: “This is not about me, nor about them: it’s about the music.”
