Our Class of 2025 have achieved some of the school’s best A Level results in a decade.
Many congratulations to our Upper Sixth leavers who collected a phenomenal set of results this morning, securing places to pursue their studies at world-leading destinations in the UK and abroad. This year, 41% of all grades were A*, 78.5% of grades were A*/A, and over 95% A*/A/B – the school’s best results since 2015, aside from the years impacted by the pandemic. Students excelled across the range of 23 Arts, Humanities and STEM subjects; 90% of Maths results – the most popular subject at A Level – were awarded A*/A. Over 63% of students were awarded three or more A*/A grades, while more than 1 in 5 students achieved three or more A* grades.
92% of students secured their first-choice destination, including Emory, IE Madrid, the University of Amsterdam and Yale, as well as some of the highest-ranked universities in the UK for their chosen subjects. As always, our students are going on to study a diverse range of subjects, testament to their varied interests. This year’s degree courses include Biochemistry, English Literature, Geography, Graphic Design, Maths, Medicine, Music, Multimedia & Electronics, Natural Sciences, Sports & Exercise Science, and Theology – to name but a few.
One of our bursary students, Zarin, secured her place to study Global Humanitarian Studies at UCL, crediting her time at South Hampstead for helping to fulfil her potential. Zarin competed as part of the school’s debate team and was elected as Camden’s Youth MP last year. “I have had such an amazing experience since joining South Hampstead thanks to all the opportunities, wonderful people, and outstanding teaching.” Another student who joined in the Sixth Form, Maggie, achieved four A* grades and will read Classics at Oxford – one of many brilliant individual success stories this year.
Congratulating our students, Mrs Paul commented: “Whether they joined us in the Junior School, Senior School or Sixth Form, it has been wonderful to see this cohort flourish so successfully. It feels incredibly poignant to be celebrating South Hampstead’s best results for a decade as we approach our 150th anniversary. I am thrilled to congratulate the girls on their well-earned achievements today and I have no doubt they will continue to forge compelling futures in years to come. I am extremely proud of each and every one of them.”
We wish them well on their next adventures and very much hope they will return to share their warmth and wisdom as alumnae.
