Rock & Pop
With Waterlow Hall transformed into a gig venue, rockstars from Year 6 to the Sixth Form took to the stage.
Musicians of all ages gave electric performances to an appreciative audience as Sixth Form compères, Emma and Kristen, introduced the bands and provided the entertainment between acts. The setlist featured a variety of styles and artists: classics from Oasis and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, contemporary pop hits from artists such as Taylor Swift, and several impressive student-written compositions. The evening was a huge success, with the enthusiastic audience supporting their peers, and our bands demonstrating their musical dedication and stage presence.
Year 10 musician, Maisha, commented: ‘The annual Rock & Pop Concert is definitely one of my favourite events – it’s a great opportunity for all of us to come together as bands and play pieces to our friends and families in a gig setting. I really enjoyed watching our performances progress from an idea with friends to disorganised weekly rehearsals – and finally taking to the big stage in front of everyone. Performing at a live event was really fun; we got to showcase our talents and feel the energy from the audience. Whether playing or watching, it was a fun opportunity for everyone.’
