Head Girl Team

We are pleased to announce our newly appointed Head Girl and team of deputies for the academic year ahead.

Following the process of hustings and interviews, we are pleased to announce our Head Girl Team for 2025/26: Molly (Head Girl), Chiara (Academic & Scholarship), Chloe (Diversity & Inclusion), Freya (Charities & Co-curricular), Rosie (Lead House Captain), Sofia (Environment & Estates), and Valentina (Wellness and Peer Mentoring), interviewed and photographed by our new Media & PR Captain, Isabel.

What is your favourite aspect of South Hampstead?

Molly: The variety of passions and opportunities – there really is something for everyone! There are so many clubs and communities with different interests, and our teachers are so dedicated to supporting these diverse pursuits.

Chiara: The sense of community – everyone supports each other; there’s a genuine feeling of belonging that makes it easy to be yourself.

What are you most looking forward to doing this year?

Chloe: I am excited to work with different year groups and ensuring everyone feels included and represented.

Chiara: Meeting new people and learning about their interests. I love exploring fresh ideas, so I can’t wait to hear everyone’s!

Valentina: Personally, I’m really looking forward to Wellness Week – and our first assembly as a team; I am so excited to share our vision for the school with everyone.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Freya: Embrace the unfamiliar! Don’t put your skills or potential in a box – the most exciting growth will happen outside your comfort zone.

Valentina: I would say to be authentically you and always take new opportunities that you think will help you grow as a person. Everything you experience now will strengthen you!

Rosie: Live the life you want to live and live it to the max. Don’t let others’ views and judgements restrict the person you want to become.

What makes your team strong and unique?

Rosie: We are extremely cohesive as a group, which makes me certain that we can overcome any hurdles together.

Chloe: We all have different interests – whether it’s Science, Drama, Maths, or Philosophy – and we’re involved in a range of co-curriculars, which means we bring a variety of perspectives.

Molly: We bring an exciting combination of unique, strong visions for many areas of the school with a uniting goal: to create a positive atmosphere for students to flourish in.

What legacy do you want to leave behind?

Sofia: I hope that people remember us as a driven and ambitious but also approachable and fun, and that younger students are inspired to run for leadership roles when it’s their turn.

Chiara: One of kindness, collaboration, and meaningful change — where others feel inspired and confident to take the initiative too.

Valentina: I would really like to destigmatise talking about failure, as without setbacks you will never improve.

What is your favourite co-curricular activity at South Hampstead?

Rosie: I love every aspect of football: coaching, training, and most of all, playing.

Freya: Anything Drama – whether it’s being in the ensemble in the school musical, or helping out with the Lower School clubs and productions.

Molly: Throughout my time here, debating has been such a valuable activity for me. It’s been so much fun, helped my listening skills, my public speaking and, most importantly, my ability to make something up when teachers ask me a question I don’t know.

What’s your go-to snack during a busy school day?

Freya: Obviously the chocolate chip cookies, especially when they’re warm.

Molly: I have a serious addiction to apples. If I don’t eat one at breakfast I bring one in for break and usually have one when I get home too.

The new Head Girl Team will be supported by over a dozen members of the new Sixth Form Leadership Team, who will take up other roles of responsibility over the upcoming year. As our Upper Sixth students start exams and embark on a new part of their life, we thank our outgoing Head girl team – Arya, Axelle, Katie, Noa, Olivia, Liv, and Sophie – who have shown amazing commitment, leadership and energy throughout the past year.
