School Awards
The community has been commended for two national awards that recognise the importance of giving back.
We have once again been recognised in the Independent School of the Year awards, shortlisted in the Outstanding Educational Partnerships category. At South Hampstead, girls of all ages are actively engaged in a wealth of initiatives with local schools through debating, music, science, eco-initiatives and more. Pupils have also forged links with school children as far afield as India, Pakistan, Rwanda and Taiwan – mutually invaluable opportunities to collaborate and promote a sense of global citizenship.
South Hampstead was also one of only two London schools highly commended for Giving Something Back in another awards programme, run by the lifestyle magazine Muddys in association with Debrett’s Education. From the youngest Junior School years to the Sixth Form, there are so many opportunities for our girls to play their part in the community and champion causes they are passionate about, so it is wonderful to see the community’s efforts and commitment acknowledged on a national scale. As outlined in our last inspection report: “Pupils’ sense of responsibility to the wider community is extremely strong.”
