Film Screening
Our Drama Scholars’ latest short films premiered at a special lunchtime screening in Waterlow Hall.
As part of South Hampstead’s bespoke Drama Scholars’ programme, short film scripts are written especially for our students before filming with Lucid Dream Pictures film company. Throughout the process, they learn valuable technical and practical skills involved in the craft of film-making, including script-writing and working behind the camera.
This term, our Sixth Form Drama Scholars produced two short films: Under Wraps, starring Freya and Emma, highlights a disastrous mistake made by a work experience girl and exposes the ruthless nature of the fashion industry; Waiting, a thriller starring Aurelia, Minna and Ellie, tells the story of how straightforward banquet preparations can lead to terrifying outcomes… Both films received rapturous applause at the premiere.
Each year, our Sixth Form Drama Scholars enjoy a range of opportunities, including film-making, workshops, 1:1 coaching, theatre trips, and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe – the world’s largest arts festival. Many of our students go on to pursue Drama at university and follow in the footsteps of many award-winning alumnae actors.
