Mehr Licht Lunch

We were delighted to welcome back pupils from the Classes of 1961 and earlier for a special summer lunch.

Now in its second year, the Mehr Licht Lunch is fast becoming a valued part of our annual alumnae calendar and lifecycle of events. The Burgess Room was filled with lively and joyful conversation, with some former pupils reconnecting with friends they had not seen in a very long time. Guests also had the opportunity to meet Aurelia, our current Philanthropy & Community representative from the Sixth Form leadership team, and reflect on their shared experiences of school life.

Head, Mrs Paul, warmly welcomed our alumnae back to the school and shared exciting news about the school’s upcoming 150th celebrations in the next academic year, as well as the major reunion planned for Sunday 28th February 2027. A highlight of the afternoon was a fascinating archive presentation exploring moments from the school’s wartime history and the remarkable story of Miss Potter’s actions during the evacuation years. This was followed by a deeply moving talk from our keynote speaker, Ms Juliet Smith JP DL, who shared personal memories and reflections on her mother’s experiences as an evacuee during the Second World War. Her warmth and insight brought this important period of South Hampstead’s history vividly to life and made for a truly memorable occasion.

It is always a uplifting to welcome our alumnae back through the school’s doors, as they continue to remain such an important and active part of our community. If you are interested in attending any of our future alumnae events, please visit our Mehr Licht community page for more information.
