Ground-breaking Wellbeing Projects
A celebratory ground-breaking ceremony marked the start of works on our 150th anniversary wellbeing projects.
The stormy weather provided a dramatic backdrop for a very special event, as works get underway for our enhanced roof terrace and new gym space to support our wellbeing goals. We were delighted to welcome back Jim Carter (OBE) to perform the ground-breaking ceremony alongside Aurelia, this year’s Philanthropy & Alumnae representative. Jim spoke passionately about the impact that the outdoors can have on wellbeing as he planted seeds for the future alongside some of our Sixth Form bursary pupils.
Jim has been involved with our roof terrace project from the very start. He generously gave up his time to speak with our Eco committee; worked with pupils on the design brief; and, alongside his wife Imelda and daughter Bessie, he launched our 150th Anniversary Campaign last November at a memorable South Hampstead Speaker Series event. Just eight months on, it is remarkable to be embarking on the projects already. This is thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community who have helped us raise over 90% of the funds we need to complete the roof terrace and gym.
Now is your chance to make your mark by including your initials or a name in our roof garden or by sponsoring some of the specific items for both projects. By doing so, you can help us raise the final £100,000 needed to reach our target of £1 million by the end of this year.
