Charitable Endeavours

The school community has shown so much generosity and kindness this term.

Earlier this month, the Maths Department’s Machiavellian Penny Challenge inspired the most devious of tactics and generosity of giving, raising nearly £1,500 for the Campaign for Female Education, our whole school charity this year.  Special mentions go to class 9G, for donating the most pennies and attracting the most silver coins, and the overall winners: 10D.

Earlier in the term, four of our Lower Sixth students had a taster volunteering session with Norwood’s Unity group, who provides fun and creative activities for children and teens with learning disabilities. Thank you also to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts for Sport Relief.

Over the past week, many girls have come forward asking what they can do to help in the local community. During the holidays, we are mobilising an alumnae pen pal scheme, starting with Year 11 and our Sixth Formers – we have been inundated with volunteers to help correspond with some of our most vulnerable former pupils during this period of isolation. Your support is appreciated.
