Competitive Cheer

This term we hosted the latest London Dance & Cheer Academy (LDCA) competition, welcoming schools from across London.

LDCA have created the first school cheerleading league in London – midway through the season, South Hampstead’s Infinity squad remain top of the league. At the latest competition, held in our sports hall, South Hampstead placed third. The finals take place in July, when we are hoping to bring the league title home for a second year in a row.  Our cheerleaders will also be performing stunts and skills at the Hampstead Festival on Sunday 7th July.

Cheerleading is a relatively new activity at South Hampstead – over 30 girls girls in Year 7 to the Sixth Form train together after school, learning skills including tumbling and ‘flying’.
