Eco-Designers

A team of Scientists collaborated on a sustainability-focused design competition at Imperial College.

As part of the Environmental Design Competition, one Lower Sixth student and five Year 10s joined students from other schools to design an eco-friendly redevelopment of Tewkesbury. The hands-on design challenge promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and gives students experience of working in an industry environment whilst honing their technical competence, management skills, and knowledge of ecospheres and resources. Tasks included developing a flood plain, designing a permanent home for the market, and reducing congestion in the town. Congratulations to Amelie, Alexandra, Ava-Juliana, Claudia, Hosannah, and Izzy for their strong research, design, teamwork and problem-solving skills, with a special mention to Amelie in Year 10 who put herself forward as one of the sub-team leaders and presented in front of the judging panel, picking up a prize for her efforts.
