Giving Joy

One of our many clubs thriving in lockdown, Giving Joy, has launched a digital crafts booklet for charity, with lots of creative projects to try at home.

Giving Joy was started as a club by Claudia, Penelope and Eleanor (now in Year 11) back in 2017. Members usually meet at lunchtimes to sew toys and gifts, which are gifted to children or sold to raise money for charity. In the past, they’ve supported War Child, Honeypot Children’s Charity, Mary’s Meals and The Winch through their sales and donations, raising over £700. The club is currently run by Thea, Penelope and Eleanor, with support from a multi-talented team of girls from across the year groups. The club has been carrying on virtually during lockdown.

Their new booklet brings together the whole team’s passions and interests, with plenty of creative activities ranging from origami to baking, and of course sewing, from toys and clothing to cushions and face masks. The booklet is now free to download here; any donations, however small, would be very welcome and can be made online. All proceeds will go to The Rainbow Trust, who provide aid and support to families with seriously ill children, work which is especially vital during this global pandemic. Thank you for your support.
