Head Girl Team

Following last term’s hustings, we are delighted to announce our new Head Girl Team.

Welcome to this year’s newly appointed Head Girl, Charlotte, and team: Izzy (Charities & Co-curricular), Leah (Diversity & Inclusion), Lillian (Lead House Captain), Nyika (Academic & Scholarship), Olivia (Environment & Estates), and Zoya (Wellness & Peer Mentoring) – interviewed and photographed by our new Media & PR Captain, Ella.

Describe South Hampstead in three words.

Lillian: Bright, bubbly, brilliant.

Nyika: Exciting, motivating, supportive.

What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?

Charlotte: Having the chance to implement all of the initiatives we have planned such as a new ‘Role Model Week’!

Zoya: I am looking forward to introducing more music into school life as it’s something that unites people and allows us to bond, regardless of differences. It is also uplifting – it will be nice to incorporate more music to radiate positivity and create a calm environment during our usual busy days.

What is your favourite co-curricular activity at school?

Nyika: Junior History Society – I love teaching lots of eager Year 7s about fascinating areas of history and having really interesting discussions.

Lillian: Anything musical – I love playing my trombone. Particular highlights have been playing at a fundraising dinner for the Waterlow Hall and the ‘MAD’ festival last summer.

What aspect of your role on the Head Girl Team are you most excited by?

Leah: The opportunity to help make the school a place where everyone can really feel included and celebrated.

Olivia: I am looking forward to implementing new schemes and ideas that will help tackle problems we face regarding the environment.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Izzy: That I am a black belt in karate… people are always shocked when I tell them.

Zoya: I received a Sixth Form Art Scholarship last year.  My art is a very important part of my life, so receiving it felt incredible.

What is your go to karaoke song?

Izzy: The Best of Both Worlds – Hannah Montana.

Charlotte: Ice Ice Baby.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

Leah: Be prepared to argue your opinions.

Zoya: Hangry! Probably best to speak to me after I’ve had my croissant at break.

The new Head Girl team will be supported by over a dozen students who take up other roles of responsibility as part of the Sixth Form Leadership Team. We are grateful for the tremendous enthusiasm and commitment of our outgoing Head Girl, Katie, and team – Ailin, Chehara, Duha, Eden, Edie and Filipa – and wish them well ahead of their forthcoming exams.
