Into the Woods

This year’s whole school musical production – Sondheim’s ‘Into the Woods’ – met with rapturous applause this week.

The plot of ‘Into the Woods’ brings together storybook characters in an allegorical story of family, love, growing up and the hazy areas between right and wrong. As always, this year’s production was incredibly ambitious, with complex staging and demanding rehearsal schedules. But the months of commitment paid off, with spectacular performances – both on stage and off – this week.  With roles double (and in some cases triple) cast, more actors than ever took to the stage, allowing different interpretations to be enjoyed by the audience on each night of its run. Congratulations to the Music and Drama Departments for delivering a phenomenal production worthy of the West End, and to the cast and crew for their boundless energy, commitment and talent. As one parent commented, “simply magical.”
