Mitzvah Day

We welcomed back former pupil Laura Marks OBE, the founder of Mitzvah Day, as the community gathered donations for local charities.

The school community has long supported Mitzvah Day – a country wide movement that encourages people to spend a little time and effort helping others.  Stacks of pre-loved books were donated to The London Book Project, who redistribute them to children who need them most, and vanloads of groceries were delivered to the JW3 Foodbank, who help alleviate local food poverty.

Pupils also made upcycled tote bags from old t-shirts, to be used to collect food from restaurants and shops that would otherwise be thrown away. Thank you to all our pupils, parents and staff who kindly donated items this year.  Our community’s efforts were also acknowledged in the local press.
