National Quizzers
Congratulations to our intermediate Schools Challenge team who made the national finals held at Winchester College.
For the second year in a row, one of our quiz teams has made the finals of Schools Challenge – a national ‘quiz-bowl’ tournament loosely based on the popular TV programme University Challenge. Students compete to be the quickest to answer a range of general knowledge questions correctly, with this year’s topics ranging from Greek mythology and the periodic table to the names of Teletubbies.
Over 115 selective, independent schools entered this year, with just the top 8 quiz teams in the country qualifying for the final. Although they lost their first match to hosts Winchester, our team made it to the final of the shield competition before just losing out in a closely fought contest. Well done Charlotte, Miranda, Nina and Obehi, who were supported by mascots Monty the Penguin and Patrolus the Dolphin.
