Outside Every Day

Pupils and staff are being encouraged to get outside every day during Guided Home Learning.

The whole school community is attempting to get outdoors every day, for mental as well as physical wellbeing. Mrs Bingham has been sharing photos on social media showcasing pupils and staff enjoying the fresh air in all weathers – socially-distant muddy runs, tree-climbing, dog walks, park visits and urban strolls – inspiring others to follow suit.

To help kick start the initiative, all Senior School pupils enjoyed a whole afternoon off timetable to take part in a socially-distanced wellness walk instead of lessons. Pupils shared wonderful snapshots of their strolls including Primrose Hill, Hampstead Heath and the deserted streets of central London. Write-ups of their adventures are being collated online, to create a selection of walking routes for others to discover and enjoy.

Meanwhile, pupils have been accumulating House points at our new Penguin Running Club, and the GDST Get Active campaign.

Scroll through the gallery of images above to discover how one teacher’s daily walk didn’t end quite so well… as featured in our recent fundraising, lockdown confessions quiz.
