Penguin Prize

Each year we present an award to someone in the school community who has gone above and beyond in contributing to the life of South Hampstead.

The Penguin Prizes are all artworks by the sculptor William Sweetlove – mini replicas of the 6ft blue and gold birds dotted throughout the school, commissioned in 2014 to inspire a community-wide conversation about the environment.

At the end-of-year, online assembly, Mrs Bingham announced this year’s winner as Anisia in Year 9, who has been involved in a variety of co-curricular activities, including Symphony Orchestra, Junior Jazz, Clarinet Ensemble and Chorale; she plays the saxophone and was recently awarded a prestigious Year 10 Music Scholarship.  Anisia is also a keen gymnast, winning gold medals for her acro-routines this year, has been an Eco Representative for her form, and contributes to student council.

Congratulations to Anisia for embracing the South Hampstead spirit – the Penguin Prize will be winging its way to you in the holidays.
