Pride Week

Students organised another colourful Pride Week to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and champion equality, acceptance and inclusion.
At a mid-week non-uniform day, everyone dressed to express themselves – a fundraiser to support the LGBT+ young people’s charity, Just Like Us, who came to speak to pupils about their work and experiences; rainbow laces were also on sale to support the charity. Students organised a lunchtime disco, a film screening of Love, Simon and a badge-making workshop, where everyone was encouraged to make badges to reflect their individuality. Staff delivered a special Pride-themed assembly where they spoke about their subject areas, such as the American poet Elizabeth Bishop.
