Psychoanalysis on the Couch

Students from local schools joined our A Level Psychologists for an edifying evening exploring the theory and applications of psychoanalysis.

In the school theatre, we hosted a panel discussion exploring Freudian psychoanalysis, with guest speakers from the British Psychoanalytic Association who work in both private practice and within the NHS. They delivered fascinating talks on psychoanalytic theory as well as diving deeper into what therapy sessions involve, how therapists work with clients, and dream analysis, including examples from the psychoanalysts’ experiences. We were delighted to welcome some of our English and Drama students, who find Freud crops up a surprising amount in their studies, as well as Psychology students and teachers from a number of local schools including UCL Academy, St Marylebone, Hampstead School, UCS, Highgate and Streatham & Clapham High School.
