South Hampstead Essay Prize

After a tough round of judging, we are delighted to announce the winner of the inaugural South Hampstead Essay Competition

Congratulations to Rachel in Year 7, whose compelling essay on whether nuclear weapons are global peacemakers or killing devices was well-researched – a very deserving winner. The new annual prize was initiated by our Deputy Head Girl and Academic Captain. Students in Years 7 – 10 were invited to write an essay of up to 1,500 words on one of five essay titles covering subjects such as art, science and politics, with entries judged on factors including their focus on the question, clarity of expression and extent of research. Best of luck to next year’s entrants – we look forward to reading your essays!
