Sport Highlights
With the summer term underway, our athletes have been picking up trophies and medals across a range of sports.
Over the Easter holidays, our skiers ended the season on the podium once again – this time in Sweden. Congratulations to Audrey in Year 10 who became U19 British champion, Cecilia in Year 9 who became U14 British champion, and Sylvia in Year 9 who became U14 Super G champ and 2nd U14 overall!
Our Year 7 to 9 track and field teams made a strong start to the athletics season, winning 8 bronze, 8 silver and 10 gold medals at the Camden Track & Field Championships. Facing challenging weather conditions at the ESAA Track & Field Cup, our athletes showed great resilience and determination, with our Junior team placing fourth overall and our Intermediate team coming third – we wait to hear whether they qualify for the regionals.
Our cricketers have also had a fantastic start to the season, with our U13 and U15 hardball teams performing well in cup matches; our U15 team progress to the next round of the Sports Magazine cup, and also have qualified for the GDST finals after topping their group following a great day in Bromley.
Meanwhile, our third cohort of Year 10 GCSE PE students ventured to Under Armour’s state-of-the-art facility at Battersea Power Station, where they undertook a number of different fitness tests and received a leaderboard ranking; Anna in the Lower Sixth currently sits at the top of the girls’ leaderboard in England! After half term we look forward to more fixtures across all our summer sports as well as our eagerly anticipated Sports Day.
