Sports Fixtures

A busy fixtures schedule has kicked off again this term, with strong performances across a range of sports.

After more than 18 months without competitive matches in some sports, it’s been a joy for our athletes to get back on court, on the slopes, in the pool and on the pitch this term.  Our ethos of inclusive excellence has ensured that over 300 girls have had the chance to compete so far this term in the Senior School alone, whether representing the E team in matches vs local schools or participating in national events.

Some highlights since September have included our swim squad triumphing at the City of London School for Girls’ gala (congratulations in particular to the Year 7 team – Alexandra, Marina, Marina and Amelia – who won 7 of their 8 races); our footballers starting the season with a string of wins against Channing; Izzy in Year 8 running the fastest time in Camden for the U13 mini-marathon; and the U15A netball team qualifying for the Middlesex finals in March, as well as winning the Highgate Tournament – as did the U13A team.  At the GDST Rally in Northampton this week, our U14 netballers and U15 footballers showed great teamwork, with special mentions to two of our footballers: Lydia in Year 9, voted players’ player, and Sasha in Year 10, awarded managers’ player of the tournament.

Our gymnasts and dancers have been training hard and look forward to competing later this year.  Meanwhile all 27 girls in the Junior and Senior ski squads qualified for this year’s English Schools’ Finals, held in Norwich, where our U12 and U14 teams both took silver and our U16 squad (Maddy, Millie, Momo, Rosa) were crowned national champions! Based on their outstanding performances, two teams (Alice, Carla, Hannah, Maddy, Melissa, Millie, Momo, Rosa) also qualified for the British Championships.
