STEM Writing Awards

Five pupils have triumphed in a national essay prize focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The annual #STEM700 Challenge essay writing prize, initiated by a GDST pupil at sister school Sydenham High, invites 700 word submissions across categories and age groups. Congratulations to all our pupils who picked up prizes for their impressive entries this year:

  • Dia in Year 7 – awarded 3rd place in the Science Category (Under 14): Genetic Engineering into the Future…
  • Talia in Year 10 – awarded 1st place in the Technology Category (U16): Quantum Computers 
  • Jacqui in Year 10 – awarded 2nd place in the Mathematics Category (U16): Modelling the Evolution of Viruses
  • Eleanor in the Lower Sixth – awarded in 2nd place in the Mathematics Category (U18): The Unsung Hero on Renewables 
  • Esme in the Lower Sixth – awarded 3rd place in the Science Category (U18): How has AI influenced Organic Chemistry?
