Bursary Survey

At South Hampstead we aim to equip our pupils for life – to develop the leaders, the thinkers, the creators of tomorrow.

Our masterplan, ‘Towards 150’ sets out some of these ambitions as we look towards our 150th anniversary in 2026 – at the centre is the desire to extend our education to anyone with potential, regardless of their wealth.

Scholarships are awarded to girls who perform exceptionally well in certain areas including academic performance and are based on merit alone. All our bursaries are means-tested and can be awarded to any student who has reached our basic entrance requirement but simply cannot afford to attend the school without financial help.  Our ambition is to double the bursary funds we have available so that we can help many more than the 25 pupils who currently receive bursaries.

We have been seeking your views on the best way we can do this, so thank you to everyone who completed our recent bursary questionnaire.  Over half of our respondents received some sort of financial assistance to attend South Hampstead themselves. Almost all felt that their education had been very valuable and that it was key for the school to continue to offer financial assistance where needed.

You can view the summary of the results of our survey below but there is still time to take part. If you would like to share your views, then do please complete the survey here.
