Top Translators
Three linguists have been commended in prestigious national translation competitions.
The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators, named after the influential literary translator, attracted over 5,400 entries from more than 25,000 pupils this year. Congratulations to our two pupils who received commendations for their translations from Spanish (Grace in Year 7), French and Italian (Marina in Year 11). Supported by The Queen’s College and St Hugh’s College, Oxford, the competition aims to promote language learning and to inspire creativity in the classroom. Meanwhile, Sixth Former Alexa was highly commended in a Spanish Flash Fiction Competition run by the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Oxford.
Well done to our trio of young linguists.
