Bollywood Star

One of our Sixth Formers is starring in a Bollywood movie, with Akshay Kumar as the lead.

Saina, who joined South Hampstead Sixth Form last year, has been been filming throughout the summer; the movie is due to be released next year.  She has previously been involved in films starring actors Roshan Seth and Aston Merrygold.

She commented: “The best part of the experience was being able to work with such talented actors who make scripts come to life. It’s been incredibly thrilling. For some scenes, I am in prosthetics – I was surprised at the number of hours required; the make-up took over four hours to perfect!”

Saina was awarded a Distinction in her Grade 8 LAMDA exam as well as full marks in her public speaking LAMDA.  Saina also achieved a near perfect score to secure a place in the first round of last year’s British Mathematical Olympiad and plans to study Maths at university after her A Levels. Earlier this year,  as Covid cases surged in India, Saina mobilised the school community to fundraise for the Disasters Emergency Committee.
