Drama student selected for RADA

Congratulations to Sixth Former Eliza who has recently been selected as one of only sixteen students to take part in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’s year-long Youth Company drama course for 16 to 20 year olds.

Over the next three terms, Eliza will learn a range of acting techniques and skills that reflect the company’s intensive classical training as well have the opportunity to perform to the public on RADA’s main stage. The Saturday sessions, focusing on skills-work, acting techniques, voice and movement, will be led by RADA faculty and Youth Company Director Phil Sheppard, with specialist workshops from other RADA tutors, guest directors and theatre companies.

Eliza, who is studying Drama A Level, said: “So far I’ve been studying text, improvising and really enjoying working within a professional company.”

South Hampstead has recently introduced Sixth Form Drama Scholarships, prestigious awards for girls who a show particular aptitude and talent for Drama, either as performers or designers. For more information, please contact senioradmissions@shhs.gdst.net
