Festive House Fun

During the last few days of term, girls have embraced some fun-filled festive House activities.

At Friday’s House Bake Off, we welcomed a special guest from GAIL’s Bakery to judge a dazzling array of stunning cakes, cookies and confections. Entries included a festive fairground and ice-rink, snowmen and reindeer cookies and a lot of fondant penguins. Entries were assessed according to taste, appearance and adherence to the winter wonderland theme.

Congratulations to our runners-up, both from Potter: Victoria in Year 7, for her red velvet cake, and Maya and Flo in Year 8, for their extinction rebellion-themed spiced igloo cake. The top prize was awarded to Katy and Ananya in Year 8, representing Benton, for their spectacularly  colourful, treat-filled sponge which was judged to taste even better than it looked. All baked goodies were sold to raise funds for the school charity, the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED).

The last full day of the term ended on a high note at the annual House Music competition. Bodington were crowned this year’s winners, following some spectacular solo and ensemble performances as well as enthusiastic whole House songs… an uplifting and melodious end to the term.
