Netball News

Hundreds of girls have competed in matches already this year, testament to the breadth as well as depth of netball talent emerging.

Netballers have had a strong start to the term, embracing our ethos of inclusive excellence. The Year 8 A to E and Development Teams – 75 girls in total – were awarded the biggest ever ‘team of the week’ accolade for their unilateral victories against The Latymer School earlier this term.

One of our Sixth Form players (GS, Liana) competed as part of the national GDST Select Squad at Loughborough University, winning both games against Loughborough Lightning – the number one Vitality Netball Superleague side in the East Midlands.

Meanwhile, the U15A and U19A netball teams have gone from strength to strength. In the Independent Schools National Cup (ISNC) the U15’s winning streak against Royal Russell School, Bedford Girls’, St Edmund’s College and Bancroft’s has taken them through to the quarter finals of the Plate Competition. The Senior Squad of U19s are through to the National Plate Quarter Finals in the Sisters ‘n’ Sport Cup, having beaten Notting Hill & Ealing High, St Benedicts and St Edmund’s, to face Samuel Whitbread Academy in the next round after half term.
