Opening Doors Cookbook

As we look towards our 150th anniversary, a new community cookbook is helping to raise funds for our Opening Doors bursary campaign.

Over twenty years ago, the staff from South Hampstead published a cookbook, bringing together ideas from staff, parents, alumnae and friends. As we look towards our 150th anniversary in 2026, the staff have produced another tasty collection of 150 recipes, sharing the diverse stories of the wonderful individuals who form part of our warm and welcoming school community.

Recipes featured include Ukrainian comfort food, an Afghan national dish, Walnut Bread from alumna Dame Angela Lansbury, and a Maple Mousse in homage to our school dog; there are even contributions from some famous chefs thrown in for good measure. The cookbook project was initiated by two of our longest-standing members of staff, Ms Bell and Ms Spawls, and features artwork created by our pupils and Sixth Form Art Scholars.

All proceeds from sales of the cookbook will go to our Opening Doors Bursary Campaign. For a suggested minimum donation of £20, parents can secure a copy via ParentPay; alumnae and friends can order via alumnae@shhs.gdst.net and any additional donations can be made here. Every contribution will help to make a South Hampstead education accessible to more bright young women – thank you for your support.
