Two teachers have recently had academic texts published, testament to their in-depth knowledge and expertise.

Mr Tanfield, one of our Classics teachers in the Senior School, has written the OCR-endorsed publication of the prescription of Cicero’s Philippic II for AS and A Level Latin. Reviewed by Classics for All, whose patrons include Mary Beard, the book is described as: “outstandingly well-designed and well-thought-out, useful to students and teachers alike – an object lesson in how to write a guide to a set text… really an exemplary work… the book could quite literally not be bettered.” Oxford graduate Mr Tanfield is also Head of Oxbridge Admissions at South Hampstead; typically, he oversees more than 15% of our Sixth Formers going on to study at these prestigious universities each year.

One of our Junior School teachers has also had a book published this term. Mrs Paramour’s How to be an How to be an Outstanding Primary Middle Leader is a compendium of research, advice, anecdotes and practical tips to help middle leaders excel. Reviews from teachers and heads describe the book as: “a perfect manual… a thoroughly fantastic read.” Mrs Paramour also writes an award-winning education blog.
