Skiing Success

Our ski team continue to go from strength to strength, with five girls selected for the ESSKIA National Ski Squad this year.

South Hampstead’s Senior ski team raced at the British Schools’ Open Slalom Championships last Sunday at the Stoke ski centre – one of 14 girls’ school teams representing England. Despite being one of the youngest teams, Hannah (Year 9), Millie, Momo and Maddy (Year 8) placed a very credible 12th out of 24 teams, up against Under 21, mostly Sixth Form, racers.

The same girls – who claimed the Under 14 national title in 2018 – alongside Alice in Year 6, have once again been selected for the English Schools’ Ski Association (ESSKIA) National Ski Squad, which can lead to future selection for the Schools World Championships. As part of their squads, the girls will train in Holland and Norway over the coming months.
