Season of Giving

We are grateful to everyone who has been helping to make a difference in the local community this term.

Each year, our families donate gifts to support disadvantaged local children via the Doorstep Homeless Families Project (Junior School) and Barnardo’s (Senior School). Some enterprising Year 7 pupils have been selling handmade decorations to fundraise for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal; Year 9 have been wrapping gifts for festive parties organised by Norwood, who support adults with learning disabilities; and Year 10 volunteers have been bringing some festive cheer to local care home residents, via our long-standing Pensioners’ Link programme.

On the last day of term, pupils attended a special event at JW3, assembling parcels for foodbank deliveries, while a festive non-uniform day raised funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee Pakistan Floods Appeal. Other fundraisers this term have included our Rock & Pop Concert, for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, and our House Bake Off competition, with proceeds going to support Luminary Bakery, who empower disadvantaged women through baking.  Our thanks go to everyone in the school community for giving so generously and to our Sixth Form Charity Captains’ commitment in leading so many initiatives.
